Our first project was this house originally built by John Gear in 1870. We converted the house from a three bedroom house to a two master bedroom house and added central air/heat, new appliances, insulation, and storm windows.
History: Mr. Gear arrived in Springfield in 1869 and soon became the most prominent brick contractor in the city. He built the Metropolitan Hotel, the Cotton Factory, Woolen Factory, Fairbank's Hall, Drury College, and nine of the buildings on the west side of the public square.
